CONFIDENTLY PREPARE YOUR DOG FOR LIFE WITH BABY

The Best Time Is Now

SUPPORT FOR YOUR DOG—BEFORE AND AFTER BABY ARRIVES

As soon as you bring your baby home, whether you know it already or not, your time, energy, and attention will be stretched in ways you’ve never experienced before. Trying to manage your dog’s adjustment after the fact can add unnecessary stress during an already overwhelming time.

Bringing a baby home is a big change—not just for you, but for your dog too. Preparing in advance helps your furry best friend adjust to new routines more smoothly, making life easier for everyone.

But preparation is only part of the equation.

That’s why our signature and award-winning Doggy Doula® service not only focuses on what your dog needs to do before the baby arrives, as well as how to navigate real-life moments after your baby is already here.

From the first introduction to the everyday moments that follow, we’ll guide you through every stage—so you can feel calm, prepared, and supported as your dog and baby adjust to life together.

How We Do Things Differently

Introducing Our “Lifestyle Training” Approach

At Family Pupz, we believe Doggy Doula® training is about more than obedience—it’s about creating a life where you, your dog, and your baby can truly thrive together.

That’s why we don’t just see ourselves as trainers—we see ourselves as lifestyle creators.

Our goal is to help you build a life that feels calm, connected, and supported during one of the biggest transitions your family will ever experience.

Instead of focusing on isolated skills like “sit” or “stay,” we take a holistic, real-life approach and ask:

What kind of life do you want to live with your dog and your growing family?

From preparing for your baby’s arrival to navigating the everyday moments that follow, we tailor your training so your dog can integrate seamlessly into your new lifestyle.

DOGGY DOULA® TRAINING FOR YOUR UNIQUE LIFESTYLE

A Peaceful Home is one where both can adjust, settle, and truly thrive together. Through our signature Doggy Doula® service, we’ll guide you and your dog through the skills and experiences that make this transition feel smooth and supported—from settling on cue to thoughtfully introducing baby sights, sounds and equipment. With a personalized plan designed for your family, we’ll help you prepare your dog for your newborn in a way that feels positive, practical, and sustainable setting the foundation for a peaceful life together.

A Peaceful Home

Harmonious Walks mean calm, connected walks you can truly enjoy together. We’ll guide you and your dog through the skills that make this possible—starting with thoughtful exposure to the stroller and building confidence in how to move together as a team. We’ll teach your dog to walk on a loose leash, stay consistently on one side, and remain focused on you while navigating everyday distractions like people, dogs, and wildlife. With these skills in place, you’ll feel confident and in control—able to enjoy calmer, connected walks with your dog and baby.

A Welcoming Host

A Welcoming Host means your dog can stay calm and composed when friends and family stop by to meet your newest addition. We’ll teach your dog to settle in a designated space, greet visitors politely, and build impulse control around food, baby items, and guests—helping you create a calm, welcoming environment for your home. We’ll guide you on how to manage these moments with confidence, so you can support your dog as the excitement unfolds and move through visits with greater ease.

A Confident Start

A Confident Start means you’re supported not just in preparation—but in the real moments after your baby arrives. While we focus on exposing your dog to baby sounds, movements, and routines ahead of time, we know those first days can feel different. If your dog becomes overwhelmed, overexcited, or reacts to your baby’s crying or movement, we’ll guide you through it. With practical, personalized strategies, we’ll help you reduce stress, support your dog, and create calmer, more predictable responses—so you can move through those early days with confidence.

A Safe Transition means you’re supported through the next important stage of life with your dog and baby. While many dogs adjust well to a newborn, this dynamic often shifts once your baby begins to crawl, explore, and interact more independently. We’ll help you navigate this transition by identifying moments that may cause stress or overexcitement, creating safe and appropriate spaces for both your dog and your baby, and guiding you in reading your dog’s body language so you can respond with confidence. With these strategies in place, you can create a more predictable, safe, and supportive environment as your dog and baby continue to grow together.

A Safe Transition

OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Expecting couple with dog sitting between them

At Family Pupz, we believe dog training is so much more than teaching tricks or commands—it’s about empowering dog parents to live the joyful, stress-free, and adventurous life they’ve always envisioned with their dog.

Our training is rooted in a positive, force-free, and science-based approach, as the latest research in animal behavior consistently shows that dogs learn best—and that learning lasts longer—when they’re in a learning environment free from fear, stress, and pain.

This foundation is supported by our proactive approach to training, which helps dog parents anticipate and prevent issues before they arise. By combining proactive strategies like redirection, management, and collaborative problem-solving, we provide you with a comprehensive toolkit to confidently navigate any and all situations that you may encounter with your dog—even when we’re not there to assist.

At the heart of our approach is what we call, “lifestyle training”. It’s not just about curbing excessive barking or leash pulling, but why you want to manage those behaviors in the first place—to enjoy a romantic date night out without worry, host a peaceful dinner party with friends and your dog, or to take your dog on meaningful adventures without stress or anxiety. That’s why we focus on offering you practical solutions to enable you to live the seamless, rewarding, and deeply enriching life with your dog that you always imagined.
